In June 2022, our Bridge Housing Pilot Project launched. We spent 6 months in partnership with the initial residents, reviewing policy, assessing building needs, and developing a comprehensive program that meets the needs of vulnerable young people while encouraging self-sufficiency and independence.
Safe, Affirming, Stable, Temporary Housing
Participants are provided with a fully furnished apartment for up to 13 months while they work with their dedicated case manager to establish an Individualized Service Plan. The goals, life skills, and needs identified in the ISP guide the support Participants receive, providing clear expectations and responsibilities for Participant and case manager and creating a partnership that encourages independent living.
Availability
SafeRoot Anchorage works from a waitlist and partners with other local organizations for young adults experiencing housing insecurity. To inquire about our waitlist, complete our Service Inquiry Form. At this time, we do not offer estimated timelines for openings in SafeRoot due to the individualized approach we offer.
Qualifications
SafeRoot Anchorage is meant to serve as a temporary bridge to permanent housing. To qualify, participants must be 18-24 years old and capable of consenting to and signing a lease agreement. Because SafeRoot serves as a temporary housing solution, Participants partner with our staff to build life skills, attend case management, and follow all program guidelines.
SafeRoot is in the process of establishing a fully ADA-Accessible unit.
