Treasurer
We are seeking someone to serve as our Treasurer, joining our Board and Executive Committee!
The Treasurer’s duties include:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage priorities and workflows. Good interpersonal skills to work with diverse individuals.
- Review organization’s financial administration, provide financial strategy and fundraising advice to the board
- Participate in a monthly board meeting, a monthly executive committee meeting, and generate a monthly treasurer’s report
- Along with the Bookkeeper keep a general ledger, transfer money in the bank, and produce financial statements
- With the President and other members of the Financial Committee prepare an annual budget to the board of directors for authorization
- Supervise Bookkeeper or other contractors in cases where the organization does not have full-time personnel
- Prepare documents for the annual financial audit (with the Executive Committee) and Form 990, and respond to questions from the board of directors or auditor
- Create cash flow estimates to ensure the nonprofit’s liquidity and stability are not jeopardized
- Ensure that all needed federal and state tax filings are submitted on time to the IRS.
- As an Executive Committee Member protect and safeguard the assets of Choosing Our Roots.
